TWINSBURG, OH – Pepperl+Fuchs introduces F12 Series Ultrasonic Sensors. These sensors offer simple push-button programmability, and feature user-selectable beam widths to provide reliable detection over a wide or narrow area. They provide an 800mm sensing range with a very small 50mm deadband, and feature a rotatable M12 quick-disconnect for easy connectivity. Indicator LEDs provide high-visibility status indication. Push-pull, 4-20mA, 0-10V outputs are available.

F12 series ultrasonic sensors have a rugged IP65 rated housing and footprint of just 41.5mm x 49mm x 15mm, ideal for operating in tight confines and sensing through narrow areas, even in harsh application environments. As a result, they are well suited for use in any number of automation applications such as web loop control, detecting packages or parts on conveyors, detecting product inside a box, level control and clear bottle detection in the printing, packaging, material handling, food and beverage, machine tool and automotive industries, among others.

F12 series ultrasonic sensors also feature Pepperl+Fuchs’ exclusive 4-in-1TM output, which automatically detects the connected load and sinks or sources as needed. The result is significantly simplified sensor selection and stocking, as well as reduced installation time and cost.

Minneapolis, Minn.—TURCK introduces a new ultrasonic sensor in a compact Q12 style housing that achieves a 40 cm sensing range with an incredibly small 2.5 cm blind zone. The small profile of the sensor allows it to be mounted in narrow spaces, like those found in packaging applications.

Palatine, Ill. — Schneider Electric announces its new XUV Fork Ultrasonic Sensor. Built for efficiency and equipment cost reduction, the ultrasonic sensor uses thru-beam technology to detect labels of any material, size, color or translucency.

The thru-beam technology allows Schneider Electric’s ultrasonic sensor to send sound through an object and determine the thickness by how much sound is returned. The +/- keys on the sensor allow for real-time modifications based on the thickness of the material being sensed. The sensor also can be locked to avoid unnecessary adjustments and will retain its settings even if the sensor is powered down and turned back on; saving the facility irreplaceable time and money.

The ultrasonic sensor is suitable for a variety of applications, including label, ply, double-sheet, splice and wrinkle/seam detection. It is capable of detecting labels between thicknesses of 0.03 mm (0.001″) and 0.08 mm (0/003″). The ultrasonic sensor is IP65 rated and operates in the temperature range of 5°C to 55°C (41°F to 131°F).
