Meggitt Sensing Systems Endevco model 7287 piezoresistive accelerometer weighs less than one gram. However, the accelerometer is not a light-weight when it comes to testing applications. The sensor targets the measurement of long duration transient shocks found in product and packaging drop testing, shipping container shock testing, jack hammer testing and high-g destructive testing.
The microelectromechanical system (MEMS) sensing element has integral mechanical stops and adds minimal mass to the test structure. The accelerometer has a measurement range of 2,000 g, 200 mV full scale output and a high resonance frequency of more than 20,000 Hz.

Designed for monitoring vibration in gas turbines, Meggitt Sensing Systems Endevco Model 6222S accelerometer is a piezoelectric design with sensitivities of either 20, 50 or 100 pC/g. The sensor’s piezoelectric technology does not require an external power supply. The unit’s balance differential output allows its use with any industry differential charge amplifier. The sensor’s packaging is a standard ARINC three-point mounting configuration using three mounting bolts. The unit has an integral two-pin 7/16-27 UNS-2A threaded receptacle as standard with an available three-pin option.
In addition to gas turbine measurements the accelerometers are also well suited for high temperature and high reliability vibration monitoring in helicopter Health & Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) as well as ground and onboard aircraft engine monitoring.

San Juan Capistrano, CA – Meggitt Sensing Systems introduces a new line of Endevco® acoustic sensors and instrumentation, designed expressly for use in automotive NVH, cabin noise, vibro-acoustic testing, appliance noise evaluation, wind tunnel testing and other critical sound and noise measurement applications.

Endevco® prepolarized condenser measurement microphones, available in 1/8”, ¼”, and ½” diameters, are offered in free-field, pressure, low-cost array and random incidence types and can be used to meet IEC and ANSI standards. Array microphones offer a lower overall per channel measurement cost and are directly compatible with ISOTRON® (IEPE-type) signal conditioning. They can be used as drop-in replacements within existing accelerometer test system set-ups for as-needed precision noise measurements. Models may be purchased as stand-alone units, or in a microphone and low-noise preamplifier combination with iTEDS on-board memory storage capabilities, facilitating their use within larger channel count applications. All microphones are constructed with a stainless steel protective grid case and housing, as well as a special stainless steel alloy diaphragm, for high reliability in a variety of application environments.
Available for use with Endevco® precision measurement microphones are a full range of low-noise ISOTRON® preamplifiers, handheld calibrators, and accessories. In addition, all acoustic sensors and instrumentation are covered by a five-year comprehensive product warranty. Ultra-Thin Absolute Pressure Sensor
San Juan Capistrano, CA – Meggitt Sensing Systems announces the debut of Endevco® model 8515C, a miniature, high-sensitivity piezoresistive pressure transducer, designed for surface air flow and other aerodynamic measurements requiring high output in a small, lightweight package.

The ultra-low profile design of Endevco® model 8515C has an overall thickness of 0.030 inch (0.76mm) and diameter of 0.250 inch (6.3mm). Units are available in ranges of 15 and 50 psia, with 200 mV full scale output, and frequency responses of 180 kHz and 320 kHz, respectively. The transducers offer stable performance over an temperature operating range of -65 to +250°F (-54 to +121°C), with combined non-linearity, non-repeatability and pressure hysteresis error of less than 0.50% FSO. In addition, model 8515C is designed to survive 10,000 g shock and 10,000 g acceleration, with minimum 5X burst pressure, making it the best performing pressure transducer of its kind in the industry.
Model 8515C is supplied with an integral cable, and is typically surface mounted onto curved surfaces, for minimal effect on laminar air or hot gas flow. A flush mounted fit may also be achieved by recessing both transducer and lead wires into the mounting surface, while using a supplied protective screen to prevent particular impingement. For airflow smoothing requirements within flight test applications, an optional rubber fairing is available. Modified versions of model 8515C are also available for wider temperature compensation. All units are shipped in special electrostatic discharge (ESD) packaging, for added protection during product shipment and handling.
Because of its uniquely high overload capability, high frequency response, very low base strain sensitivity and excellent temperature performance, model 8515C is ideally suited for small-scale wind tunnel testing models, helicopter or turbine blade surface pressure measurements, as well as aerodynamic surface measurements required during flight test.
