Series 4050 Photoelectric sensors with highly effective background suppression

New Contrinex Series 4050 photoelectric sensors with considerably improved background suppression are built into a 40 x 50 x 15 mm housing and excel by their long operating distance of 500 mm, with a setting range from 20 to 500 mm.
The operating distance is independent of the target color, shape or surface structure, and is set by means of a 3-turn potentiometer with position indication. The devices feature a switching frequency of 500 Hz and work with red light, which considerably simplifies their alignment.
Their outstanding optical characteristics result in a quasi-linear output function with a virtually negligible blind zone (< 1 mm at s = 300 mm).
The sensors are enclosed in a glass-fiber-reinforced PBTP housing, complying with insulation class II. They are equipped with a glass window and a connector that may be adjusted from 0 to 90°. In addition to conventional mounting methods such as mounting brackets, dovetail fastening provides an alternative option.
CONTRINEX has manufactured inductive and photoelectric proximity switches since 1972. It specializes exclusively in the development, manufacture and sales of positioning sensors for industrial use. All departments and management levels in the company’s management system are ISO 9001:2000 certified.

Omegadyne announces the most durable version of its high accuracy MM Series micro-machined silicon pressure transducers. The new hermetically sealed version of the MM Series features all welded Stainless Steel construction, 316 wetted parts and glass to metal seals (GMS) at the electrical outlets. This ensures that the unit is hermetically sealed from external environments and the media. Designed for use on automotive and aircraft test platforms and anywhere environmental concerns demand the most durable characteristics.

The sealed MMA500V Series has a micro machined silicon core that provides high accuracy, low drift and excellent long term stability in the harshest environments. Ranges from 100 psi to 5000 psi, accuracies from 0.08% to 0.03% and a variety of pressure and electrical connections make this MMA500V Series Transducer extremely versatile. The temperature compensation range can be as broad as -40 to 200*F (-40 to 104*C) and thermal errors as low as +/- 0.3% over the compensated range. Operating temperature range is -49 to 250*C (-45 to 121*C). The MMA500V Series design is further ruggedized with a secondary containment system in the event of diaphragm rupture. A 5-Point NIST traceable calibration certificate included.
The MM Series pressure transducers offer “Custom Designed” features with fast delivery. Our modular design allows you to construct a pressure sensor to meet your application requirements, with guaranteed fast delivery… typically from stock to 2 weeks. Our product configurator found online at omegadyne.com allows quick and easy configuration of a transducer that meets the exact needs of your project.

Miniature Photoelectric Sensors

Buffalo Grove, IL – Carlo Gavazzi has launched the next generation of state-of-the-art miniature photoelectric sensors with exceptional features. Housed in a world standard style, these sensors are well-prepared for global applications.

The new PD30 Series sensors feature simple to use, precise push button programming, eliminating the trial and error setup required with potentiometer based sensors. Many of the models also allow remote teaching options, so setup and programming of the sensor can be done away from the application. These same models also provide an option for locking the sensor settings, giving a tamper-resistant set up that allows for more secure operation. A muting version provides various benefits, including mutual interference protection, sensor alignment aid, and the ability to verify the sensor’s proper operation remotely, via a PLC. A dust alarm output signals an alarm when the sensor lens needs to be cleaned, reducing downtime and improving sensor performance.
The PD30 Series is available in six sensing technologies, several with advanced ranges previously unheard of in sensors this size, including through beam (15m) and polarized retroreflective (6m). Diffuse reflective, background suppression, retroreflective, and a transparent object detection model are also available. Each sensor is powered by 10-30VDC, and have a 100 mA transistor output, which can be programmed as normally open or normally closed. The sensors are constructed in compact 10.8 x 20 x 30mm housings, and prices start at just $70.

Buffalo Grove, IL – Carlo Gavazzi has launched a new series of compact, versatile photoelectric sensors, offering exceptional features and outstanding value.

The new CGPS Series sensors feature a universal housing style which can be installed via the threaded M18 barrel, or secured with screws to a bracket via the mounting holes on the flat sides. All of the sensors have both normally open and normally closed outputs, so the right output choice is always available. The sensors also feature a dual LED indication, and many models offer sensitivity adjustment via a potentiometer, therefore set up is simple and fast. Connection options are plentiful as each model is available with your choice of a hard-wired cable, a M8 quick-disconnect plug, or a ‘pig-tail’ option which combines both cable and M8 quick disconnect plug.
The CGPS Series is available in three sensing technologies, each with exceptional sensing ranges. Diffuse reflective in 100 and 300 mm ranges, retro-reflective with a 6 meter range (including a 3 meter polarized option), and through-beam models in 6 and 20 meter ranges are offered. All sensors are supplied by 10-30VDC, are compact in size, merely 13.5 x 29 x 35mm, and come with 150mA complementary transistor outputs. Prices start at just $43.
All of the CGPS Series sensors carry UL and CE approvals.
Balluff GlobalEye Photoelectric Sensors

Florence, KY – Balluff is introducing a new series of basic photoelectric sensors that will simplify the entire process of specifying photoelectric sensors. Balluff’s GlobalEye™ series includes three different form factors: 18 mm threaded combination, small block, and standard 18 mm tube, each of which is available in background suppression, diffuse, retroreflective, and thru-beam models. Easy to install and simple to choose from, these sensors will not only provide reliable solutions in countless everyday applications, they will also greatly simplify stocking and maintenance procedures.

One of these sensing modes will work in almost all general duty applications: Background Suppression sensors are able to sense targets and ignore objects behind them. Diffuse sensors sense the target when it reflects light back to the sensor. Retroreflective types acquire an object when it blocks light coming back to the sensor from a reflector. Highly reliable Thru-beam sensors have an aligned emitter and receiver. The sensor is actuated when a target passes between the emitter and the receiver and blocks light going to the receiver.
