Minneapolis, MN — TURCK introduces its new PT4400 pressure snsor series designed for intrinsically safe locations. This series utilizes a media isolated stainless steel diaphragm for use in pneumatics, water management, hydrogen storage, hydraulic systems, oil and gas, HVAC/R and industrial OEM equipment.

The PT4400 is rated for UL/cUL 913 (CSA 157) Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D when installed with an approved barrier, such as a TURCK IM33 module. Constructed without welds or o-rings, these sensors allow exceptional pressure ranges up to 10,000 psi and burst pressure ranges up to 20,000 psi.
PT4400 sensors are manufactured using MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) technology. With its one-piece sensing design, the PT4400 offers many advantages over other pressure sensing technologies, including a high life cycle, plus high overload and burst pressure cycles.
Mobile Equipment Vehicle Sensors
Minneapolis, Minn. — TURCK introduces its new family of robust inductive proximity sensors for use on mobile vehicle systems. Designed to reliably detect the position of doors, ladders, outriggers, gates and booms, the Mobile Equipment Sensor Series delivers rugged sensing solutions for agriculture, construction, commercial and utility industry mobile equipment applications. The sensors are available in five styles—M12, M18 and M30 barrel sensors, along with Q14 and Q20 rectangular versions—to easily install on a wide range of mobile vehicles. By incorporating advanced technology and enhanced electronics, the sensors provide an extended sensing range while resisting the high levels of EMC often found with mobile vehicle electric systems.

The Mobile Equipment Sensor Series is constructed of robust PBT housings and durable materials, such as stainless steel, to resist stones, salt spray and extreme shock and vibration. To ensure dependable operation in the broadest range of environments, the sensors deliver IP 68 and IP 69k protection and a temperature range of -40 to 85° C. In addition, the sensors series offers load dump compensation to withstand electrical pulses and provide reliable operation.
With quick-disconnect or potted-in cable connections, as well as optional mounting accessories, the sensor series is quickly simply integrated into mobile vehicle systems. Optional pigtail versions with standard automotive connections are also available.

Minneapolis, Minn.—TURCK introduces a new ultrasonic sensor in a compact Q12 style housing that achieves a 40 cm sensing range with an incredibly small 2.5 cm blind zone. The small profile of the sensor allows it to be mounted in narrow spaces, like those found in packaging applications.

The compact sensor is available with retro-reflective and diffuse operation modes, and PNP and frequency outputs. The Q12 ultrasonic sensor is IP 67 rated for environmental protection.
Dual Axis Inclinometer Sensor

Minneapolis, Minn.—TURCK introduces a new dual axis inclinometer sensor for angular tilt detection. These sensors feature compact rectangular housings and may be mounted at ±10, ±45, ±60 and ±85 degree angles. Inclinometer sensors may be used in a wide variety of industries to solve unique feedback requirements where the customer needs to level platforms, control tilt angle or control a dancer.

The new TURCK inclinometer measures angular tilt in reference to gravity. At the heart of the TURCK inclinometer is a MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) device, which incorporates a micro-electro-mechanical capacitive element into the sensor that utilizes two parallel plate electrodes, one stationary and one attached to a spring-mass system. Movement causes acceleration that produces deflection in the non-stationary electrode. This results in a measurable change in the capacitance between the two plates that is proportional to the angle of deflection. These signals are conditioned to provide two analog outputs (0.1 to 4.9 VDC) or two current outputs (4 to 20 mA).
The microboard design in the MEMS technology allows for a compact, precise inclinometer in a very robust, industrialized package. The inclinometer is IP 67 rated, with a temperature range of -30 to 70° C that permits its use in many applications, including:
* Machine engineering: levers, pedals, flaps, mixing machines, hydraulic jacks
* Commercial machines: diggers, cranes, rotary tables, bulldozers, road construction machinery
* Vertical and horizontal drills used in tunnel and road construction and immersion equipment
* Offshore plants: platforms, cranes
* Furniture: hospital beds, dental chairs, fitness machines, wheelchairs
* Conveyors
Flat Pack Noise Immune Sensor
Minneapolis, Minn. — TURCK introduces a new noise immune and easy to apply capacitive sensor for level applications. The BCF10 sensor’s small size makes it more flexible for mounting in level applications, and it has the ability to detect liquids with high concentrations of chlorides, such as soaps and cleaners.

The BCF10 is a DC sensor, available with a 10 mm sensing range in either a corded or quick-disconnect versions.
