Silicon photodiodes featured targeted spectral sensitivity

December 12, 2025 By Redding Traiger Leave a Comment

Marktech Optoelectronics has introduced a new family of silicon photodiodes that includes devices optimized for precise near-infrared (NIR) detection with minimal visible sensitivity and a blue-green-enhanced version with peak responsivity at 525 nm. These photodiodes feature low junction capacitance and fast response in compact molded through-hole packages, making them suitable for optical switches, light-barrier sensors, spectroscopy, fluorescence, and other wavelength-selective sensing applications.

The new family of silicon photodiodes (SiPDs) is produced in the United States at Marktech’s Simi Valley, California facility and final-packaged in Japan in collaboration with Optrans Corporation. The devices combine fast response time, high photosensitivity, and low junction capacitance in cost-effective, molded-through-hole plastic packages—bringing precision spectral performance to compact, price-sensitive optical designs.

Samples of these new SiPDs are available now through our distributors, Digi-Key and Mouser.
