Applications that require withstanding constant shocks and vibrations, high bearing loads, dirt, and temperature fluctuations, dictate special sensor design considerations. Pepperl+Fuchs had these as targets when they designed the CVM42H CANopen Multi-Turn Absolute Encoders. Available with an IP66, IP68, or IP69K environmental rating, the encoders utilize magnetic sampling to deliver 24-bit resolution position value through the CANopen protocol. The sensor’s resolution of up to 1° means precise positioning of movable tools on lifting systems or cranes.
Rated for use in operating temperatures from -40°C (-40°F) to +85°C (185°F), the encoders offer axial and radial shaft load capacity to 270 N and are vibration resistant to 30 g and shock resistant to 300 g.
