Absolute Linear Kit Encoder Targets High Mounting Tolerances and Reliability

If you have purchased and have been satisfied with a sensor, it can be a pleasant surprise when the manufacturer makes a new part that matches the dimensions of the one you have and allows a simple replacement providing an upgrade to the original. That’s exactly what HEIDENHAIN’s did with its LIC 2100 series absolute linear encoder. The dimensions of the LIC 2100 encoder system are identical to the HEIDENHAIN’s LIDA 200 series. The encoder graduation consists of a single absolute track on a stainless steel tape that provides an encoder resolution to 50 nanometers. The scanning units output to the ultrafast Endat 2.2 interface, and allow speeds up to 10 meters per second. The longest measuring lengths available are up to 6020mm.
