What cool sensor-enabled products were at CES 2018? Part 5

February 5, 2018 By Randy Frank Leave a Comment

At CES 2018, exhibiting companies displayed many new products for smart homes, smart health, smart cars and more. Comfort, energy efficiency and a healthy home environment (clean air) are an integral part of a smart home. The Yes It Is Tag Sensor, an Innovation Award at CES 2018 Honoree, provides the means to achieve all of these aspects. With the Tag Sensor, temperature, humidity, pressure, impact, and rotation data can all be collected through the user’s smartphone.

The Tag Sensor contains memory, communication, and sensor devices within a small protective case. The sensor’s communications are based on standards including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), SIGFOX, LORA, and Near Field Communication (NFC).

The initial certified sensors embedded inside the 5×5 cm Tag module include a wide-range temperature sensor and humidity sensor. The temperature sensor can measure temperatures as low as -40°C and as high as 180°C with a precision of 0.1°C. Since they are remotely mounted, the Tag Sensor automatically saves environmental data for a period of up to 1 year without battery replacement.

A specially developed mobile application allows users to access and manage the Tag Sensor as well as its data. The app allows connecting of multiple sensors, visualizing the data, and exporting reports.

One of the first targeted group of customers is property developers. With the Tag Sensor, they have a system to monitor the health of their buildings that includes a minimum guaranteed temperature threshold, analysis of the humidity of the walls and more.
