Motor manufacturers looking for more design flexibility should appreciate thinner encoders. To satisfy these customers, HEIDENHAIN has two new rotary encoders. The ECI 1118 rotary encoder has a thickness of only 10 mm and a diameter just less than 37 mm. The absolute encoder offers a resolution of 18 bits and an accuracy of ±120”. It is also has compatible mounting to other 1100 series encoders.
The EBI 1135 model rotary encoder has the same slim design and high quality single-turn feedback and offers the option for multi-turn capabilities using a battery-buffered revolution counter. With the external battery, the revolution counter can attain distinguishable revolutions up to 16 bits.
