Optical micrometers have been susceptible to errors, especially in high speed systems. With its new LS-9000 series optical micrometer, Keyence has addressed these issues. The two-axis devices have a standard sampling rate of 16,000 Hz to keep up with any production line while maintaining an industry leading repeatability of 1.2 millionths of an inch. (0.03μm). The LS9030D addresses measurable targets from 0.3 to 30 mm (0.01 to 1.18-in) with a measurement accuracy of ±2µ (± 0.08 Mil). The LS-9006D addresses measurable targets from 0.04 to 6 mm (0.001 to 0.24-in) with a measurement accuracy of ±0.5µ (± 0.02 Mil).
With no moving parts in its design, the LS-9000 series almost completely eliminates the wear and tear common to traditional systems.
