As a new addition to its Proxtrol family, SoftNoze USA Inc’s ShortSTOP products convert a standard shielded-style inductive proximity sensor into a mechanical switch. While inductive sensors are designed for non-contact sensing, some applications require or benefit from physical contact. In a targeted application, the ShortSTOP adapter gets physically triggered and its internal target activates the sensor host to establish a control output.
Expanding the basic functionality of M8x1 and M12x1 sensors, ShortSTOP products have over 40 configurations of spring-loaded, flat and round plungers, short and longer needle-shaped probes for a variety of orientations and positioning applications.

We are a tier one automotive supplier
Out core comptencies are press and resistance welding of metal parts.
In our tooling we are currently using proximity sensors.
However the y are continuing to use them as contact sensors. by incorrect adjustments.
This is wearing our sensors out creating excessive downtime.
We are looking for a mechanical contact switch / sensor that is robust enough to swithdatand this environment.
Do you have any recommendations?
