New triaxial ICP case isolated accelerometers

June 22, 2017 By Paul Heney

PCB accelerometersPCB’s two new triaxial ICP accelerometer models 354A04 and 354A05 are case isolated to help ensure measurement accuracy in the presence of electrical noise sources such as EMI and ground loops. These accelerometers are rugged, with durable, titanium housings. The case isolated design eliminates the need for special isolation bases, coatings and insulated mounting screws. The thru-hole mounting configuration allows the accelerometers to be rotated 360° prior to tightening the screw, allowing for easy installation.

Both models are TEDS IEEE 1451.4 enabled for easy tracking and record keeping, containing manufacturer, model number, serial number, calibration date, sensitivity, frequency range and measurement ID.

Case isolation makes these accelerometers ideal for vibration measurements on structures that have poor electrical grounding. The housings are hermetically sealed for reliable operation in high humidity and dirty environments. Both accelerometers have an operating temperature range of -65° to 200° F (-54° to 93° C) and a frequency response from 0.4 to 5000 Hz. These features make them ideal for flight testing, ground vibration testing, and environmental stress screening.

Built-in ICP microelectronics provide a low noise, low impedance output signal capable of signal transmission over cable lengths of hundreds of feet. Any ICP signal conditioner or data acquisition system that incorporates an ICP constant current power supply can be used to power the accelerometers.

Models 354A04 and 354A05 are available for immediate shipment.
