LA-9.5 Series miniature AC-LVDTs

May 15, 2020 By Paul Heney

Alliance Sensors Group, a div of H.G. Schaevitz LLC, has expanded its linear position sensor line with the new LA-9.5 series of miniature AC-LVDTs (Linear Variable Differential Transformers). These high precision linear sensors are small diameter contactless devices designed for industrial and commercial OEM applications in the factory automation, industrial, and test and measurement markets. The LA-9.5 AC-LVDTs feature infinite resolution, excellent linearity, and a wide operating temperature range, making them ideal for a wide variety of OEM position sensing applications where small size is important.

Features include:
• Miniature 3/8 in. (9.5 mm) OD SS body
• 7 ranges from ±0.025 to ±2.0 in. (±0.64 to ±50.8 mm)
• -55° to 125° C operating temperature
• Good stroke-to-length ratios

“Alliance Sensors Group has for many years been known for its AC-LVDTs and popular push button calibrated LVDT signal conditioners. We are excited about moving further into the general industrial marketplace with our newly expanded AC-LVDT product lines.” said Harold Schaevitz, President and CEO of Alliance Sensor Group.

LA-9.5 series miniature AC-LVDTs operate from a nominal 3 Vrms, 2.5 – 3.3 kHz excitation source. They are packaged in a 0.375 in. (9.5 mm) OD SS housing with 12-in. leads and are offered with either an imperial or metric threaded 0.110 in. (2.8 mm) diameter core that works in a 0.125 in. (3.2 mm) ID bore. When mated with ASG’s SC-200 DIN-rail-mountable industrial AC-LVDT signal conditioner, an LA-9.5 series LVDT becomes part of a complete position measurement solution, especially where installation space is at a premium. ASG’s AC-LVDTs are also available in larger body and longer range versions, including the LA-19, LHA-19-A, LHA-19-R, LA-20.6, LA-21, LA-25, and LA-27 series.
