Spring-loaded, hermetically sealed ac-LVDTs

July 30, 2018 By Paul Heney Leave a Comment

LAS-19 Spring Loaded LVDTAlliance Sensors Group, a div of H.G. Schaevitz LLC, has expanded its linear position sensor line with the LAS-19-A series spring-loaded AC-LVDTs (Linear Variable Differential Transformers). These rugged yet high precision linear sensing devices are spring loaded, hermetically sealed, contactless devices with an axial connector designed for industrial and commercial applications such as factory automation, metal and paper mills, valve stem position, robotic assembly systems, pharmaceutical and food manufacturing, and operation in wet environments.

LAS-19-A AC-LVDTs feature a wide operating temperature range, so are ideal for use in power generation facilities and industrial automation equipment, and in many OEM position sensing applications.

Features include:

  • Spring Loaded
  • Hermetically sealed 3/4 inch OD SS body
  • Axial 6-pin connector
  • 6 ranges from ±0.050 to 2 inches (±1.27 to 50.8 mm)
  • -55 to 125 C operating temperature

“Alliance Sensors Group has for many years been known for its power-gen LVDTs and popular S1A push button calibrated LVDT signal conditioner. We are excited about moving into the general industrial marketplace with the first of our spring loaded AC-LVDT product lines.” said Harold Schaevitz, President and CEO of Alliance Sensor Group.

LAS-19-A series AC-LVDTs operate from a nominal 3 Vrms, 2.5 – 3.3 kHz excitation source. They are packaged in a 0.750 inch (19.0 mm) OD SS housing with an axial 6-pin PTO2A-10-6P connector. When mated with ASG’s SC-200 industrial AC-LVDT DIN-rail-mountable signal conditioner, an LAS-19-A series AC-LVDT becomes part of a complete position measurement solution.  ASG’s AC-LVDTs are also available in smaller or larger body size and longer range versions, which include the new LA-9.5, LA-19, and LA-20.6 series, along with the LA-21, LA-25, and LA-27 series.
