Manufacturing processes in areas such as food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries need sensors for process monitoring and control. At the same time, these sensors must meet hygienic requirements from organizations such as the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) and 3-A Sanitary Standards Inc. (3-A SSI) as well as from regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). For example, the FDA has issued Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs).
To meet these requirements in temperature sensing applications, Baumer developed its TER8 temperature sensors. Available in three variants for front flush installation and with 20 mm or 50 mm immersion sleeve, the hygienic design of the resistance temperature detector (RTD) sensors ensures food safety and quality and are EHEDG and 3-A compliant.
