Temp Sensors Communicate and Filter

Called the world’s first family of temp sensors with 1.8V SMBus and I²C™ communications, Microchip Technology’s EMC118X temperature sensor ICs target signal communications within the latest generation of smartphone, tablet and PC chipsets. The sensors have a 1.8V upper voltage limit for I/O signals. In addition, the EMC118X family uses frequency-hopping filtering on the sampling frequency to avoid the injection of coherent noise. This enables pc board traces of up to 8 inches while maintaining accurate temperature readings.

The EMC1182 Evaluation Board (part # ADM00516) is available for development with these new temp sensors.
