IDS’s new USB industrial camera with autofocus

July 27, 2015 By Zak Khan Leave a Comment

IDS-USB-camera-autofocusIDS presents its first UVC industrial camera with autofocus and 13 megapixel resolution: the UV-3013XC. The primary advantage of this camera is its platform-independent operation within Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and other operating system platforms, without the need to install a device driver. Just connect the camera and see an image. The high-quality design, a robust housing with screw-lock connectors and many auto features make the UVC camera with USB 3.0 interface perfect for use in professional machine vision applications with changing ambient and light conditions.

The compact dimensions (ca. 32 x 61 x 19 mm) provide a space-saving integration. Due to many auto features (e.g. exposure, white balance and gain) there is no need to adjust settings in lots of situations, not even in difficult lighting conditions.

A sharp, high-resolution image will always be captured. The new camera model is suitable for use in kiosk systems, access controls as well as for applications in transportation and logistics.

Nevertheless, many features like brightness, contrast and saturation can be manually adjusted. Even own applications can easily be implemented in the UVC camera via DirectShow (Windows) or Video4Linux (Linux). The UVC industrial camera is made for industrial use and provides long-term availability.

It delivers images with a resolution of 4192 x 3104 and 4128 x 3096 pixels or live video in different resolutions up to Full HD. The XC is available as both the new USB Video class model and the version with the proven IDS Software Suite.
