Miniature Photoelectric Sensors Offer Greater Sensing Ranges

April 27, 2015 By Randy Frank

Balluff_6K_applicationWith its second generation line of 6K miniature sensors, Balluff offers up to 18m range (with through-beam mode). In addition, the 6K sensors offer reverse polarity protection and short circuit protection.

Either red light or class 1 laser technology is used depending on the product and all versions of the BOD 6K and BOS 6K second generation sensors are now IP67, IP69 and Ecolab approved. The sensors miniature housing allows mounting in space-limited applications, while the sensor delivers reliable position detection independent of material or surface characteristics.

Available sensing modes include background suppression, diffuse, retroreflective, through-beam and contrast.
