LPPS-22 series linear potentiometer travel sensor with rod end joints

June 7, 2022 By Heather Hall Leave a Comment

Harold G. Schaevitz Industries (HGSI) has expanded its sensor product offering by adding resistive technology to its portfolio of linear position sensors. The LPPS-22 series of linear potentiometers offer a cost-effective solution to sensing requirements in the factory automation marketplace. LPPS-22 series potentiometers are expertly constructed to satisfy applications like automotive, robotic control, X-Y table feedback, injection molding machine slides, press or die arm position, control valve shaft position, and mil/aero test stands.

Features of the LPPS-22:

  • Full ranges from 1 to 12 in. (25 to 300 mm)
  • Self-aligning swivel rod eyes on both ends
  • Environmentally sealed to IEC IP-61
  • Operating temperature -40° C to 95° C
  • Linearity better than 0.10%

The ruggedly constructed 22 mm OD anodized aluminum housing with a 1 m 3-conductor cable keeps out dust and permits an LPPS-22 shock absorber suspension travel potentiometer to withstand high shocks (50 gs single hit) and vibration (20 gs). Swivel rod eye ends are standard to facilitate self-alignment during installation. Depending on range, LPPS-22 series potentiometers are powered with a maximum input of between 12- and 36-Volts DC at 12 mA or less, and their maximum output resistance varies between 1 and 5 kilohms.
