Report Reveals Details of MEMS Gyroscope

December 1, 2014 By Randy Frank Leave a Comment

Automotive applications are well known for their stringent quality requirements. At the same time, MEMS gyroscopes have been touted as stma3g4250d_icon_1684087415solutions to and suitable for automotive application requirements for many. So I was quite surprised to read that STMicroelectronics was the first supplier to qualify its A3G4250D Automotive 3-Axis MEMS Gyroscope to meet the automotive AEC-Q100 qualification. AEC-Q100 is the industry-standard qualification for automotive integrated circuits.

The 3-axis gyroscope for automotive applications measures angular rates up to ±245 dps and is assembled in a 4.0 x 4.0 x 1.1mm package. In addition, the unit embeds an 8-bit temperature sensor and operates within an extended temperature range from -40 to 85°C. The Yole Développement report provides further details of this 3-Axis MEMS gyroscope
