Scaling Shrinks Flow Sensor

February 4, 2013 By Randy Frank Leave a Comment

DJI-0033 DF2 straight on imageWhen a design works well and is widely accepted in the marketplace, it makes sense to take advantage of its capabilities but modify the design to meet new requirements. By scaling its thru-FlowT Pressure Transducer technology, DJ Instruments maintained the 100% swept ID surfaces but significantly shrunk the size of a transducer that is used widely in HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) and other analytical and processing applications. The internal volume of the LV2 low volume thru-Flow sensor is approximately 1 microliter compared to the standard DF2 model with an interior volume of 13 microliters.

The LV2 low volume thru-Flow model is available for pressure ranges from 5,000 up to 30,000 psig. Accuracy is within 0.25% of Full Scale. The standard material for the LV2is 6Al4V Titanium, while a range of sensing material options is available depending on the application. Output signals can be voltage or 4-20 mA.
